The World Tortoise and the Hare: Championship Edition

The World Tortoise has been challenged by the jerk Hare to a foot race. The people of the World will need to help the World Tortoise navigate the path as she has bad vision. It will be a challenge that requires everyone's help.

CONTROLS & GAMEPLAY:

Movement: Arrow Keys or WASD Action: Enter or Spacebar

Through the actions of the people that live on the back of the Tortoise, help steer the World Tortoise along the path so that she can win the race against the Hare. They may need to move to one side of the world to make the World Tortoise steer in that direction.

This project is the post-jam version. I added a few things based on feedback from players.

1. Randomized Path: The path the World Tortoise is now randomized between playthroughs. This was a good learning experience for me as I haven't done much with meshes and shaders before. The path is built using Perlin  Noise. It isn't perfect as there are some instances where the path doesn't bend at all or it bends a bit too much. With some mini-games having a randomized element as well, there's a chance it could create unfair situations. This is a big design problem that I didn't consider. Sorry, but I'm moving on from this game so it'll just have to be what it is.
2. Gameplay Hints: Players had some difficulty understanding how some minigames were to be played. Though the intention was for the players to figure that out, I accept that the goals where too obscure. So I added some extra text and hints that I hope make it less frustrating.
3. Checkpoints: This is a feature that many players thought would help the game. I agree with them, but unfortunately with the way I built the game (ie: badly, confusingly, poorly structured), it would be too difficult and time consuming to do. So I did not add it.
4. Additional small polishes and game balance.
